Co-op Bank Kenya has partnered with Fanaka Real Estate on land purchase, construction and Buy & Build financing, the bank said in a post on X. The agreement covers financing land acquisition and developing the property, including homes and commercial developments.
The arrangement links financing for a plot with support to build on it. Fridah Mitei, Co-op Bank's head of mortgage finance, said the bank was committed to putting customers at the heart of its work.
Fanaka CEO Moses Muriithi said the partnership would allow more Kenyans to acquire land and build homes on it. Fanaka sells land in growth corridors including Mombasa Road, Thika Road, Kangundo Road, Kitengela, Kenyatta Road, Ngong and Kikuyu.
Co-op Bank reported total assets of KES 869 billion and profit before tax of KES 23.1 billion for H1 2026. It has 223 branches, 619 SACCO front offices, more than 16,000 Co-op Kwa Jirani agents and 609 ATMs and CDMs.
Fanaka Real Estate was founded in 2016 by Moses Muriithi Kihunii. It began with land sales along Kangundo Road and Ruiru East before growing into a broader real estate provider. The company has previously partnered with Stanbic Bank Kenya and NCBA Bank on land and home financing.
