On Sept. 10, OpenAI announced ChatGPT for Financial Services, a version of ChatGPT Work that pairs built-in financial data with GPT-6 Astra’s reasoning. The company described the product in a post on X and on a blog page dated Sept. 10.
OpenAI said teams can use the product to develop research, financial models and customized client materials. Its initial focus is investment banking and equity research, guided by early work with design partners Morgan Stanley and Evercore.
It includes datasets from providers including Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News and Crunchbase, according to the company. OpenAI also said administrators can publish Excel, Word and PowerPoint templates for teams.
OpenAI said the product is available to eligible financial institutions.
The release puts GPT-6 Astra into a finance-focused ChatGPT Work product. OpenAI started its GPT-6 Astra rollout on Sept. 4, as Go Big News reported.
OpenAI is a San Francisco-based AI research and deployment company created in 2015. The company said on March 31 that it had closed a funding round with $122 billion in committed capital at an $852 billion post-money valuation. It also said ChatGPT had more than 900 million weekly active users and more than 50 million subscribers as of that date.
