Apple on Wednesday introduced iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone, starting at $1,999, along with iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5. Executive Chairman Tim Cook recapped the Cupertino hardware event in a post on X, listing the products announced that day.

Apple said iPhone Duo opens to a 7.6-inch inner Super Retina XDR display and closes to a 5.4-inch outer display, a size the company compared to a passport. The phone is powered by the A20 Pro chip, uses a dual-battery design, and runs iOS 27. Apple said Split View “allows users to open two apps side by side on iPhone for the first time.” It comes in star white and night sky. Pre-orders begin October 16, with availability on October 23 in more than 70 countries and regions, according to an Apple Newsroom release.

Chief Executive John Ternus called Duo “the most transformational change to iPhone since the original.” Apple said the inner display is 50 percent larger than iPhone 18 Pro Max, while the closed outer screen provides 90 percent of the screen area of iPhone 18 Pro.

iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 and iPhone 18 Pro Max at $1,299. Both use A20 Pro, add a 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, and ship in black, silver, glacier, and burgundy. Pre-orders open at 5 a.m. Pacific Time on September 12, with store availability on September 18. Apple said eSIM-only Pro Max models deliver the largest battery-life increase in iPhone history, with up to 45 hours of video playback.

Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399 and Ultra 4 at $799. Both can be pre-ordered now and go on sale September 18. They share a new Health Sensing System and S11 chip that, Apple said, measure heart rate every five seconds and add a readiness score from 0 to 10. Ultra 4 is rated for up to 50 hours of everyday battery life and up to 45 hours of outdoor workout tracking.

AirPods 5 start at $129, or $149 with a wireless charging case. Pre-orders opened Wednesday, with availability on September 18. Apple said the open-ear design adds Active Noise Cancellation that removes up to 50 percent more noise than AirPods 4 with ANC.

iOS 27 and watchOS 27 arrive September 14, including a beta of Siri AI, the company said.
