WC Vendors Pro 2.0.9 adds first-party BuddyBoss support, connecting vendor profiles to community features including activity, notifications, messaging, groups and forums. Josh Kohlbach, CEO and founder of Rymera Web Co, announced the release in a post on X.
The update gives marketplace operators an option to make vendors visible in the community tools used by customers and other members. WC Vendors said the integration treats vendors as community members instead of keeping them separate from those functions.
The feature set includes a store tab on vendor profiles and a vendor filter in the BuddyBoss member directory. It can also publish activity-stream posts for new products and reviews, send alerts through the BuddyBoss notification bell, and enable private messages.
Operators can connect vendors to groups, with an option to create groups automatically. They can also choose to create vendor forums and apply a visual restyle that matches the BuddyBoss theme. All eight touchpoints are optional, according to the WC Vendors announcement.
BuddyBoss Platform 2.5.0 or newer is required. WC Vendors said sites without that version are unaffected.
Rymera Web Co acquired WC Vendors in May 2023. Kohlbach founded and leads Rymera, which also operates Wholesale Suite and Advanced Coupons. WC Vendors was originally founded by Jamie Madden.
WC Vendors says its product is used by more than 10,000 people building WordPress marketplaces and has more than 20,000 customers overall. It competes in the WooCommerce multi-vendor plugin category with Dokan, which launched in 2014.
