Opensource UI has drawn more than 50,000 unique users since going live on July 9, 2026, creator Bidyut Kundu said in a post on X on Sept. 10.
Kundu also reported more than 350,000 page visits and 500 GitHub stars. The public repository showed 501 stars and 15 forks on Sept. 10.
The latest figures compare with more than 1,000 users and 10,000 page views during the project's first four weeks, according to Kundu's portfolio. It also reported roughly 35% retention and a 14-minute average session time, measured through PostHog and custom analytics.
Opensource UI is a free, MIT-licensed library of React and Next.js components built with TypeScript and Tailwind CSS. Developers copy individual components into their projects instead of installing the UI library as a package.
The live catalog lists 207 components across 30 categories. The repository README still describes 170 components and says the library has no npm installation step.
The documented stack includes Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS v4, with PostHog available for optional client-side analytics. The repository also includes an agent kit with a workflow and reference documents for coding assistants.
The repository was created on June 5, 2026. Kundu describes Opensource UI as a solo project, with every component designed, built and maintained by him. His portfolio lists him in Kolkata, India, and describes him as a software engineer and designer with more than 3.5 years of startup product experience, including work at Conas Consulting from April 2023 through June 2026.
The project is free for personal and commercial use, with attribution appreciated but not required. Its homepage has an empty sponsor block inviting a first sponsor.
