GainFrame reached $2,416 in monthly recurring revenue on Day 55 of Michael Rode's effort to build the app to $3,000 MRR, Rode said in a post on X. He also said SEO drove more than 30,000 Google clicks in the trailing 28 days and that revenue crossed $4,000 for the first time.

Rode, who posts as mjrode, is building GainFrame as a side project while employed full-time. The backend and software engineer is based in Wilmington, NC, and says he has 15 years of software engineering experience and 20 years of lifting experience.

GainFrame is an iOS app that uses AI to analyze gym progress photos. It estimates body fat percentage, FFMI, lean mass and scores for 12 muscle groups, then combines those check-ins with Apple Health and workout data to show physique changes over time. The app is free to download and includes at least one complimentary check-in.

The app launched on iOS on March 8, 2026. Its about page reported 3,500-plus unique users, 249 active subscriptions and more than $1,200 in MRR as of July 21, 2026.

GainFrame integrates with workout-logging app Hevy to attach training-volume data to photo check-ins. It names Spren, ZOZOFIT, Bodymapp, FitTrace, the InBody App and smart-scale companion apps as competing body-composition tracking tools, while positioning its product around zero-cost entry, on-device privacy and frequent use rather than clinical-grade measurement accuracy.

TrustMRR lists GainFrame at $2,393 current MRR, $4,042 revenue in the last 30 days, and $15,505 all-time revenue, with data last updated September 21, 2026.
