Digital Realty has entered Türkiye through a joint venture with Rönesans, with its first Ankara data center campus scheduled to go live in 2028 with a 22MW facility. The company announced the agreement in a post on X.
The deal extends PlatformDIGITAL into Türkiye. Greg Wright, Digital Realty’s chief investment officer, said the partnership combines Rönesans’ development capabilities with Digital Realty’s global platform to meet demand for cloud, AI and enterprise infrastructure.
In its announcement, Digital Realty names Rönesans Infrastructure as the joint venture partner. It said the Ankara campus is designed for more than 22 megawatts of carrier-neutral IT capacity.
Land, power and permits for the campus have been secured, and early construction has started, according to the release. The first facility is scheduled for completion in 2028.
Paula Cogan, managing director for EMEA at Digital Realty, said Türkiye is becoming an important location for digital transformation, cloud adoption and AI innovation. Dr. Erman Ilıcak, president emeritus of Rönesans Holding, said digital infrastructure supports economic growth, innovation and technological progress.
The venture also intends to develop an additional data center in Istanbul. Before the Türkiye announcement, Digital Realty’s footprint included more than 300 data centers across more than 55 metro areas, serving more than 250 Fortune 500 companies.
