Aditya Jaiswal is launching NotchOwl, a $4.99 Mac app, on Product Hunt. The one-time purchase covers up to three Macs and has no subscription.
Jaiswal, who is credited as NotchOwl’s creator on Product Hunt, said on his personal X account, @adityaships, that he is launching the app there today. The account had 17,519 followers as of publication. A ScrollLaunch maker profile links Jaiswal to both @AdityaShips and NotchOwl, corroborating the connection between the Product Hunt credit and the account that announced the launch.
NotchOwl turns a MacBook’s notch into a productivity workspace. Its hover interface provides access to tasks, notes, focus timers and calendar events. The maker says the app is intended to avoid switching apps to check a task, start a timer or write a quick note.
The app requires macOS 14 or later and is optimized for Apple silicon Macs. Task, note and timer data is stored locally on the device; internet access is needed for license activation, deactivation and update checks. NotchOwl is distributed and licensed through Dodo Payments, includes a 14-day money-back guarantee and was at version 1.0.8, build 10, at the time of the Product Hunt launch.
Before NotchOwl, Jaiswal built Appthetics, an AI-powered mobile app design tool that converts app ideas into Figma files, code exports and App Store screenshots. Appthetics was founded in February 2026. Jaiswal is based in India, according to a TrustMRR profile.
NotchOwl enters a crowded Mac notch app category. A 2026 comparison lists at least 11 competing utilities, including NotchNook, Boring Notch, MacNotch, Alcove, TopNotch, Droppy and Notchy, with one-time prices of roughly $0 to $25 or subscriptions around $3 to $4 a month.
