Breedr, a livestock software company headquartered in Texas, said in a Sept. 9 post on X that it raised $27 million in Series B funding. The company said more than two million cattle are on its platform.

Breedr also announced the financing on Aug. 26. Partech led the round through its impact fund, with Latitude and Outsiders Fund participating. Latitude is the growth-stage fund of seed investor LocalGlobe, while Outsiders Fund led Breedr's Series A.

The round brings Breedr's total funding to $46.6 million. Partech's Arnaud Minvielle and Latitude's Remus Brett will join the company's board.

Breedr said close to $500 million in livestock has been traded through the platform this year. Its customers range from family ranches to businesses handling more than 100,000 cattle annually. The company's careers site says it helps more than 6,500 farmers and ranchers manage more than two million cattle worldwide, while Partech said the platform operates across ten global supply chains.

The software stores weight, health and family-history information in a digital record tied to each animal. Breedr said the record is updated as a typical animal passes through three or four farms, and remains attached when producers sell cattle through its marketplace.

Breedr also uses an artificial intelligence model to estimate when cattle should be sold. A separate fund managed by the company advances money against animals that producers are still raising.

The company said producers using its records can get cattle to market weight as much as five months earlier and earn more than $500 per animal. Breedr estimates that the shorter production time reduces methane by 20% to 30% per animal.

Breedr plans to use the funding to expand its team, bring more farmers and ranchers onto the platform, and collect additional information, including genomic data. Its Sept. 9 post said it is hiring for marketing, account management and trading teams. Listed openings include marketing manager and product marketing manager roles in Austin, Texas.

Founder and CEO Ian Wheal started Breedr in the UK in 2018. The company moved its headquarters to Texas in 2022 and said it operates in the US, UK and Australia, with a growing presence in New Zealand and Europe.

Wheal said the beef industry needs to derive more value from each animal and cannot do so with paper records. USDA reported 86.2 million cattle and calves on US farms as of Jan. 1, 2026.
