Webflow, which says more than 300,000 companies use its software, unveiled Source at Webflow Conf 2026 on Sept. 2. The company announced the marketing platform in a post on X and opened it as a limited research preview.

Source connects a customer’s codebase and marketing technology in one operating environment, according to a Webflow blog post. Marketers, designers and developers receive workspaces tailored to their jobs, while AI agents can launch and optimize digital experiences in the same environment.

The workspaces use a feature called Views, with dedicated interfaces for visual site building, campaigns, content and optimization. Teams can also create Views for other workflows.

Webflow said Source uses site code as its foundation. Agents work directly with the code that will be published, while people can make changes through Webflow’s visual canvas. Both methods update the same underlying code.

Each workspace includes brand systems, role-based access, approval paths and audit trails. Agent activity follows the same permissions and review processes as human work, including a record of what changed and which person or agent made the change.

Developers can connect an existing codebase and technology stack without a migration or rebuild. Source can also connect a customer’s CMS, hosting and marketing tools, including existing Webflow sites. Customers may instead use more of Webflow’s stack, including its headless CMS.

Agents can monitor performance without waiting for a prompt and present drafted work for review. Teams can create agents for defined jobs, such as identifying pages with declining conversions, recommending test variants or checking new pages for brand voice.

Customers set the agents’ level of autonomy. They can require human approval before changes go live or allow agents more freedom on lower-risk work.

Founded in 2013 by Bryant Chou, Sergie Magdalin and Vlad Magdalin, Webflow offers a visual website builder alongside content management, analytics, A/B testing, AI-driven personalization, localization and SEO tools. The company reports 3.5 million users and more than 900 team members across 25 countries.

Webflow said its existing platform will remain available and continue receiving investment, including more agent features. Customers that later choose Source will receive a supported migration path.

The company plans to enroll selected agency partners and customers in phases over the coming months. Applications are open at the Source product page. Agencies can connect a client’s stack, configure its workspaces and agents, and then transfer ownership to the client’s team.
