# StarSling raises $3M and launches Review Runners

[StarSling](https://starsling.dev) has raised a $3 million pre-seed round announced Sept. 22, 2026, led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Y Combinator. The San Francisco company announced the financing alongside Review Runners, a code-review system that runs in GitHub Actions.

Review Runners are designed to run before human review. Teams can supply their own model-provider key and set reviewer logic, skills and scripts, placing automated review work inside an existing GitHub Actions workflow.

The product gives teams versioned review configuration stored in a repository and supports specialized reviewers for areas including security, APIs, tests, databases and frontend code. Model execution is read-only, with publishing handled in a separate step. Comments include severity levels and line references, and prior reviews are canceled when a new commit arrives.

StarSling bills Review Runners by the minute as a CI job. Customers separately pay their own model providers for model and token use. The product is available through an early-access signup, according to the company’s [announcement](https://starsling.dev/blog/pre-seed).

The investor group also includes Vermilion Cliffs Ventures, Precursor Ventures, Cervin Ventures, Outset Capital and Transpose Platform. StarSling listed angels including Sentry co-founder David Cramer, Zach Holman, Rocket Money co-founder and CTO Idris Mokhtarzada, and Phosphor Capital founder Kulveer Taggar.

Co-founder and CEO Yonas Beshawred previously founded StackShare, which FOSSA acquired in 2024. Co-founder and CTO Daniel Worku previously led Netflix’s Internal Developer Portal engineering team and worked on Facebook’s AI Camera team. StarSling is part of Y Combinator’s Spring 2025 batch.

The new product sits alongside StarSling Runners, the company’s AI-native GitHub Actions runners. StarSling markets those runners as a replacement for ubuntu-latest, claiming up to six times faster performance and up to 13 times lower costs than standard GitHub Actions runners.
