[Context.dev](https://context.dev), a Y Combinator Summer 2026 company, has put its Answers API live on [Product Hunt](https://www.producthunt.com/products/context-dev?utm_source=other&utm_medium=social&dub_id=bhWnwY0diVKN1kDS). Founder Yahia Bakour announced the launch in a post on X, describing Answers as web research through one API call that returns structured JSON and sources.

The feature lets users define a research task and the JSON structure they want returned. Context.dev says the system searches the web, finds sources, extracts information and delivers structured data with source citations.

Answers joins the company's credit-based web API for scraping, crawling and structured JSON extraction. The company says its API can convert pages to clean Markdown and retrieve brand and company data. One successfully scraped page costs one credit, according to Context.dev, and its plans start at $0 a month for 1,000 credits; paid tiers include Developer at $25 a month, Pro at $149 a month and Scale at $499 a month.

Context.dev was founded in 2025 and is headquartered in San Francisco, according to its Y Combinator directory listing, which puts its team at about six people. The directory says more than 600 companies use the product. Bakour previously held engineering leadership roles at Sunrun and Amazon and has prior startup experience.

Context.dev announced on May 31, 2026 that it was backed by Y Combinator. In a [blog post](https://www.context.dev/blog/were-now-backed-by-ycombinator) announcing its Y Combinator backing, Context.dev described itself as building "the context layer for the internet: one API that helps agents and software understand websites, companies, products, and brands without weeks of scraping, parsing, or enrichment work."
