# SPECS adds Shopify Catalog shopping to its AR glasses

[SPECS](https://specs.com) has added Shopify Catalog shopping to AR glasses available for preorder starting at $2,195. The feature lets shoppers browse products in 3D and place them at full scale in a room to judge how they fit at home.

The company announced the feature in a post on X. For ecommerce merchants, the setup keeps the transaction on the retailer's own site: shoppers who are ready to buy complete checkout through that website, according to [Snap's announcement](https://newsroom.snap.com/making-computing-more-human-with-specs).

The shopping feature was announced with SPECS Intelligence, new AR experiences, a cellular charging case and a Verizon connectivity partnership. Specs Inc., which makes SPECS, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Snap Inc.

Snap is also opening a SPECS First Look pop-up at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles. The public can try the glasses in person beginning October 1.

SPECS enters a smart-glasses market where Meta held 69.2% share in the first quarter of 2026, according to IDC. The category shipped roughly 2.25 million units during the quarter, up 167% from a year earlier. RayNeo, Xiaomi, Viture and XREAL also held shares of the market, while Google, Samsung and Apple are expected to launch competing AR or smart glasses in 2026.

Snap Inc., SPECS' parent, was founded in September 2011 and is headquartered in Santa Monica, California. It went public on the NYSE under the ticker SNAP on March 2, 2017.
