# Venice adds TypeSafe's Jev to its API

[Venice](https://venice.ai) has added TypeSafe's Jev decision model to its API in beta, the company said in a post on X.

Jev is built to return typed answers rather than generated text. Developers can send application state and typed questions, then use a probability, selected option or rubric score in code branches instead of trying to extract JSON from a chat model.

Venice's model listing identifies the beta entry as `jev-latest`, with a 32K limit for state plus the longest question, a 64K total request capacity and an anonymized privacy tier. The model is listed at $0.0420 per million input tokens and $0.00 for output.

Venice raised a $65 million Series A in July 2026 led by Dragonfly, with participation from Coinbase Ventures and North Island Ventures, valuing the company at $1 billion; it said at the time that it had more than 3 million active users and offered access to more than 200 AI models, according to TechCrunch.

TypeSafe describes itself as building machine-native intelligence infrastructure for automation, and says Jev produces typed decisions rather than generated text. The company was founded by Diogo Almeida, a former OpenAI researcher who worked on ChatGPT and co-developed RLHF, roughly two years before Jev's September 2026 launch. TypeSafe emerged from stealth on September 16 with $40 million in seed funding led by DCVC, according to FinSMEs.

TechCrunch reported that Vercel engineers said they got results five to 18 times faster and with greater accuracy using Jev than with an OpenAI model.
