# Tony Dinh ships open-source Jev vs. Claude Haiku Tetris battle

Tony Dinh has launched an open-source, real-time Tetris battle between TypeSafe AI's Jev model and Claude Haiku 4.5. The project reports Jev responds in roughly 220 milliseconds, versus roughly 750 milliseconds for Claude Haiku 4.5.

The game gives both models the same piece sequences and gravity schedules. Each cleared line sends a garbage row to the other board, and the first model to top out loses. The [project repository](https://github.com/trungdq88/jev-tetris) also reports Jev operates at roughly 20 times lower cost per move than the competing LLMs it faces.

Dinh announced the matchup in a [post on X](https://x.com/tdinh_me/status/2101094189694099738), saying the real-time format makes both speed and intelligence matter. A live version offers a mode to watch Jev face an LLM, a mode to play against Jev and a solo mode showing Jev’s decisions.

Jev is TypeSafe AI’s first publicly announced System One Model, designed to return fast, structured decisions for software instead of free-form text. TypeSafe AI says Jev’s end-to-end response time is 70 to 500 milliseconds, compared with three to 329 seconds for frontier LLMs, and lists input pricing at $0.042 per million tokens with free output tokens.

TypeSafe AI was founded in 2024 by CEO Diogo Almeida, CTO Erik Gafni and COO Sasha Sheng, and is headquartered in San Francisco. The company emerged from stealth in mid-September with a $40 million seed round led by DCVC, reportedly valuing it at $200 million.
