[Meta](https://muse.ai) launched Muse on Sept. 8, 2026, with free use of up to 100 million tokens a week, according to Mark Zuckerberg. The personal AI agent is rolling out in the United States on iOS, Android and the web.

Meta announced Muse in a [newsroom post](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/09/introducing-muse-personal-ai-agent/) dated Sept. 8, while the official Muse account directed users to download the app in a post on X the same day. Meta said the agent helps people pursue goals and suggests ideas.

Users can message Muse through its dedicated app or WhatsApp. Meta said it can send email, book travel, open a browser, fill out forms, negotiate and turn a recipe reel saved on Instagram into a grocery list. It can keep working after the app closes, returning when a task changes or it needs approval before an email or purchase.

Muse runs on Muse Secure VM, a persistent and isolated Linux virtual machine with its own browser. The machine stores the agent and the user’s data. A separate Sentinel agent must approve outbound actions, and users decide which apps Muse can connect to.

Meta said Muse cannot see passwords or payment methods held in secure storage. Checkout uses Link built by Stripe and a one-time-use card. Meta said Muse is the first AI agent covered by Link’s purchase protections, while Shop Pay and 1Password support are coming soon.

The company said Muse conversations and virtual-machine data are not shared with its advertising systems. Users can also opt out of having their Muse interactions used to train Meta’s AI models. Meta has opened a public bug bounty offering up to $300,000 for valid reports.

Muse is powered by Muse Spark 1.3, according to Meta’s AI account on X. TechCrunch reported that two paid plans are available at launch: Power for $20 a month and Maximum for $100 a month.

Meta said in October 2025 that more than 1 billion people used Meta AI each month, giving the company an existing audience for AI assistants before Muse’s launch. Go Big News [reported on Aug. 20, 2026](https://www.gobignews.com/ai/meta-ai-arrives-on-the-mac-with-systemwide-dictation) that Meta AI had arrived on the Mac with systemwide dictation.

Later this year, Meta plans to introduce Muse Confidential VM, which will encrypt the entire virtual machine with a key held only by the user. The company also said Muse support for AI glasses is coming soon.
