# Comp AI raises $34M Series A for compliance software

[Comp AI](https://www.trycomp.ai/) raised a $34 million Series A led by Roo Capital and Grand Ventures, the company announced in a September 17 post on X and a press release. The company was founded in January 2025.

The Miami-headquartered company says more than 1,000 companies use its product to get audit-ready, including Corgi, OpenCode and Dub. Comp AI reported 15x year-over-year annual recurring revenue growth and 10x year-over-year team growth in its Series A announcement.

The company builds software to automate evidence collection, policy management and control implementation for SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA and GDPR. CEO and co-founder Lewis Carhart said security software should understand a business, perform work and respond as risk changes.

Comp AI says the new funding will go toward expanding beyond audit readiness into continuous cybersecurity capabilities and growing its team across its Miami headquarters and New York office.

Before the Series A, Comp AI raised a $2.6 million pre-seed round co-led by OSS Capital and Grand Ventures. TechCrunch reported that Comp AI has raised $37.5 million in total and that its founders, Lewis Carhart, Claudio Fuentes and Mariano Fuentes, previously built workflow platform LeapAI, which grew past one million users before shutting down.

Roo Capital Principal Varun Sridhar said businesses can no longer treat compliance as an annual box-checking exercise as AI changes security and compliance. Grand Ventures General Partner Nathan Owen said the company’s growth to more than 1,000 customers was notable.
